CURRENT PROJECTS

talkUBUNTU is a project-driven social media learning enterprise designed to build creative partnerships between Schools, the Business- and Industrial Sector as well as Civil Society (Social- and Developmental Organizations).

The project and platform, inclusive of an electronic learning environment (ele) and a student management system, focusses primarily on Life Orientation, Study- and Career Development and Cross Cultural Learning.

Schools across the African continent, and beyond, build learning enterprises to enable partnerships with (local/national) businesses, representative of all industrial sectors, as well as with youth-, social- and developmental organizations (civil society). These partnerships empower learners and students to discover, explore and develop their talents, and abilities, within the context of the real world, to navigate their future.

talkUBUNTU is based on the ideals of Ubuntu, meaning a person is a person through other people.

The Eden & Central Karoo Education District is set to launch South Africa’s first digital learning enterprise, a so called school in the cloud, to give primary- and high school learners the opportunity to take (part) ownership of an important, often neglected, part of their personal-, social-, study- & career development. The project, called the Eden Karoo talkUBUNTU Learning Enterprise, is designed to give learners the necessary information, knowledge and tools to build school-clubs in support of Life Orientation and aims to bring schools in the Eden & Central Karoo District and all other relevant educational stakeholder on one collaborative platform together.

Bringing schools, the business- and industrial sector as well as civil society, on one collaborative platform together, opens the doors to an array of new educational and developmental opportunities, not only for learners but also for educational institutions. Not only does it offer opportunities for greater cooperation between schools, schools and the business and industrial sector, as well as schools and civil society, it also creates an exciting space for learners to explore and discover the world, with and without the guidance of their LO teachers.
